Yay! Fresh food!

Our local farmers’ market is open once again, and this means that we can get fresh meat, veggies, and fruit as it comes in season. Oh, and cheese. We can’t forget the fresh cheeses. And maybe chocolates again this spring and fall (since it gets too hot and melts in the summer). I’m so excited to see what all there is to buy again. Yum…

I wish, wish, wish that our farmer’s market had more selection. We have the typical veggies, some fruit, a bread lady, a coupe of flower ladies, and one meat person. Oh, how I would love fresh cheeses to select from. Lucky for you!

We don’t have as much fruit selection as I’d like (and I really miss being close to orchards), but the cheese people have a LOT of local cheese and, sometimes, meat to choose from. We got a really nice, fresh roast from them last fall, and they have several varieties of cheese that they make that Neal and I really like. We also have lots of jams and maple syrup sellers along with the flowers and veggies. I wouldn’t mind a bread lady, but we do go to Great Harvest Bread Company and get a couple specialty loaves each week (honey whole wheat always and then something special to go with it. This week we got asiago pesto bread. Yum. If you guys come up to visit, we’ll have to get something special for that.)
