Hello, my name is Jessica, generally known as jess. On May 27, 2006, I married the most wonderful man in the entire world (no, seriously—and not just because he’s my husband. He was my best friend for a year before we even dated and two-and-a-half years before we married, so I think I’m qualified to say so. *winks*), who convinced me to move two states northward to the Frigid Northlands of Minnesota.
We both enjoy taking full advantage of what real life has to offer. By this I mean that I prefer to have real conversations with other humans and would much receive rather a hug than an emoticon. If there is one thing I learned in the two-and-a-half years when I maintained a long-distance relationship with my husband before we were married and the past several years when I’ve been separated from my family and close friends, it’s this: Nothing beats a real hug or a long phone call that lasts as long as you both can talk without dropping off to sleep. I can honestly say that I have come to appreciate all contact with friends and family in the flesh and in “real time” simply because I have come to know the value of presence and time—more than I have ever understood it before.
To know me means more than just reading this blog. It means consistent and continual contact with me, a constant back and forth of ideas and life stories. I’ve mentioned on my blog several times that friendship is a two-way street and I firmly stand by that belief. You can probably ask any of my friends: One of my strongest traits is loyalty to my loved ones, and I am truly willing to drop what is going on in my own life just to make sure a friend knows that I’m available for them—any time of the day or night—whenever the need is great.
My life is not contained wholly within these on-screen pages and words: It is much more than you will ever glean from my online presence. (For more information, please refer to my disclaimers.) I have made the decision to live my life in the flesh more so than on a virtual screen.
This said, I will still post here occasionally when the muse lambastes me with her cane of inspiration.
Please feel free to contact me at jesusita_1995 -at- yahoo -dot- com. (I think you know what to do with that.)
